First of all, I would like to start with some good news we have had in ISM: I finished my Original Work Speech and ISM Display Board for the Research Showcase last week. The Original Work speech had been postponed for some time, but thankfully I made it up last week on Tuesday. I am really happy with the progress I have made thus far and hope to improve my speaking skills even more. One of the most important takeaways was how important it is to practice your speech so you can fill in any gaps, and how you can eliminate any filler words also by doing so. I also learned about the importance of having a closing ad ending that matches and ties together. For example, when you tie the conclusion back to the beginning, the speech has a fuller and more resounding closing. I also finished my display board for the research showcase, and today in class, we had a gallery walk. It was really cool to see what my peers had learned so far, and how their ISM journeys have changed since the beginning of the year. I am happy with my work and I am excited to properly be able to present my work at the research showcase next week. There are still a few pending assignments that need to be completed for some of my classes, and I really hope that they will be done by the end of the week.
