Connecting with Professionals

I have yet to reach out to professionals to interview. I’m not really sure where to get started, because I have been searching for professionals who work with AI in the field of medicine, but I haven’t really been able to find many people in this area. Usually, when I search, I can only see AI software companies. I know that there are certain companies that are involved in medical research and creating products that have to do with technology, so I will probably just have to look up people from those companies. My assessment this week was about stem cells, and how iPSCs, or induced pluripotent stem cells can be produced in lieu of ESCs, or embryonic stem cells. This topic was actually very diverse and exciting to learn about, especially since I already had a bit of background knowledge from last year, when I read and learned about stem cells and their applications. I would like to start developing my professional contact list, because then I will hopefully be able to conduct research interviews soon. Although it is a bit soon, I also think it might be a good idea to start thinking about what I want to do for my Original Work project this year. I don’t necessarily need to start everything now, but I think it would be nice to start thinking about ideas so that I have more time to plan out research for the Original Work project. I will check back in next week.
