Creating the Original Work

In last week’s assessment, I read a step by step article on how to categorize data and use AI in deep learning. Learning about this topic really helped me understand what components were required to create an AI training system. There were a few concepts I didn’t understand, and until I find a mentor, I will try to consult the internet or ask my parents. Last week, I had an interview which was originally scheduled, but something urgently came up and we were unable to meet. The professor was very kind and offered to reschedule the interview. This past weekend, I wanted to get started on my Original Work project, but I only had time to read more articles and research about what I wanted to do. I read two other articles about machine and deep learning, and how data is organized into sets to be evaluated by AI. My whole weekend was essentially spent on writing college essays, then attending Trunk or Treat on Saturday, and then on Sunday completing more college applications. I really hope it gets less busy after college applications are submitted. On the bright side, I was able to submit Early Action to most of the colleges that were on my priority list! I feel bad that I wasn’t able to stick to my goal of getting started on Original Work, but I should have planned my time out better. I will definitely have to start that this week, and I think I’m going to need to contact more professors about interviews, because I haven’t been able to meet with anyone in bioinformatics yet. That’s all for now, and I’ll be back next week!
