This past weekend was very nice and I got to spend time with my family and friends. It was a much needed break from school, and I spent it well. That being said, I also had a lot of time to work on my Original Work project on Sunday, which was good. I continued reading the Deep Learning with PyTorch book that I had started reading about two weeks ago. I also continued setting up the neural network, and my dad helped me check it. I have asked one professor whom I interviewed to be my mentor, but I will probably have to send a follow up email to see if a decision has been made yet. Other than that, there aren’t any other updates with mentorship. My research speech evaluation was turned in last week, and I got to see what I wanted to improve on, which will be helpful when I start planning for the Research Showcase and the other upcoming speeches. The overall consensus is that I need to work on using less fillers, shortening my explanations and talking a little less, and practicing my speech more so that I do not get nervous. Another thing is that I want to have a stronger beginning and ending, in such a way that they are tied together. I am making good progress with my Original Work, and I hope it comes out well!
