Searching for a topic

This past week I continued exploring the different subtopics of oncology. In my research assessment this week, I wrote and studied about the development of tumor biomarker tests. I found it very interesting to learn about the tumor biomarkers and how they are used to more effectively diagnose cancers. I was thinking about a way to develop tumor biomarker tests and personalize the medicine based on studying genomics. This week, I read a bit outside of my research for the assessment about genomics. The study of DNA and genomes has always been something that I had wanted to learn more about and I thought that this might apply to the tumor biomarker tests. Once research is conducted about the genomes, the results of the test based on the DNA could be applied in creating a tumor biomarker test that is personalized and more suitable to a specific patient. By using genomics to develop these tests, it could potentially be easier to diagnose conditions due to the personalization of them. There may already be some technology that is similar to this, which would be awesome to learn about. I definitely would say that my research from this week was really fun and I still would like to continue researching about the correlation between studying DNA and oncology. My goals for this week are to reach out to more medical professionals and continue finding out about oncological studies.
